Our partners

Columbia Gorge Cat Rescue: spay/neuter clinics for the stray cats.

Community Enrichment for Klickitat County: (CEKC) a non-profit corporation located in the Columbia River Gorge in rural southwest Washington State. Its mission is simple: To enrich community services and engage in activities that strengthen the social and economic well being of Klickitat and Skamania County residents. They do this by providing fiscal sponsorship, training, information and resources to help our local communities grow and prosper.

Strong Women Exercise Class: Tick, tock, tick, tock…… That’s the rhythm Strong Women use to guide them through isometric exercises. What is the Strong Women exercise program? It’s not aerobic but you’ll sweat. It’s not a weight loss program but Strong Women often feel so great that they are inspired to engage in activities that lead to weight loss. It’s not held at a gym but wherever women can gather together two days a week for an hour. It is a supportive, self-paced fun workout for mid-life to elderly women who want to strengthen their muscles and improve their balance. Strong Women gain self-confidence, feel invigorated and experience a new awareness of their bodies.
The Strong Women program sponsored by Oregon State University Extension Service is a research based set of isometric exercises using hand and ankle weights in specific slow motions. Classes are led by trained community members who are just like you! Instructors lead the exercises keeping pace with that ticking metronome while encouraging participants to work at their own level and to increase weight intensity over time to build strength, muscle and bone density as well as improve balance.
The Gorge is lucky to have twelve Strong Women locations with one group meeting at the Lyle Activity Center on Monday and Thursday mornings, 8:00-9:15am. If you’d like more information feel free to join us during one of the sessions or give Debbie McDonald a call at 509-365-6813.
You’ll feel great becoming a Strong Woman!
